GALT, CA (MPG) - Now that basketball season is over, Liberty Ranch sophomore Haley Smith is working on her volleyball skills by playing outside hitter for the RAGE Volleyball Club 16-1 National Team out of Ripon.
Easter weekend they competed at a large national tournament called the Pacific Northwest Qualifiers in Spokane, WA.
The RAGE got some big wins over nationally ranked teams from Texas, Washington and Oregon. They are currently ranked fourth in the highest 16U Gold Division out of all teams in Northern California. Smith says she and her team look forward to earning a bid to compete at the Junior National Championships this summer in Las Vegas.
In February they were invited to compete at the Triple Crown NIT tournament in Kansas City with the other top 50 teams in the country, where they gained experience and earned some exciting wins over some tough teams.
Smith was also named to the Sacramento Bee First Team All-Metro for her basketball playing. Smith is also currently competing in the water on the Liberty Ranch Swim Team.
