GALT, CA (MPG) - Galt District Chamber of Commerce on April 4 recognized Taxes & Accounting Xclusive Service (TAXS) as its honorary business of the month. Chamber members gathered at the business’ C Street location to present the award.

The family-owned accounting firm has been in operation for more than 30 years, co-owner Lisa Strapp told the Herald, and she was excited to receive the business of the month recognition for the first time. 

Strapp’s mother and fellow co-owner, Sharon Tucker, started the business, following the example of her own mother, who was a tax preparer and bookkeeper.

“And then I followed in her (Tucker’s) footsteps, and my daughter-in-law who works here … she is a tax preparer also now. So it’s a family business,” Strapp said.

Strapp noted that TAXS is a small business with a lot of local clients, both individuals and businesses. In addition to tax preparation, the firm offers bookkeeping and payroll services.
