GALT, CA (MPG) - After locking in the league championship last week by beating Galt and Union Mine, the Liberty Ranch STUNT hosted Liberty High School and played them twice last Friday night.

While the Hawks lost the two games 10-22 and 10-23, head coach Barbara Welch thought it was important for her squad to face a challenging opponent. 

“We are preparing for section championships next week,” said Welch. “The girls needed some good competition to help prepare for that. The team fought hard and was able to compete at those higher-level routines. Now we know what we need to work on to prepare for the championship.”

The Hawks have been very busy and after Senior Night next Tuesday will have played 22 games during this season, according to their schedule posted online.  

They went undefeated in League, playing each league team twice. The SVC consists of Liberty Ranch, Bradshaw Christian, Union Mine and Galt.

The Section Finals will be played April 26 and 27 at Galt High School. 

Game Times – Friday: 11 am, Noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. Saturday: Semifinals at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.; Championship at 1:30 p.m.
