GALT, CA (MPG) - In the first game in the baseball series, the Hawks only beat Union Mine 1-0.  

This last Friday the Hawks turned it on early and scored 5 runs to 0 in the first inning at home. The Hawks would score 3 more in the 5th while allowing the Diamondbacks one run in the second and one in the seventh, beating them 8-2.

Kade Lecompte pitched 6 innings giving up one run, one base on balls, and striking out nine Diamondbacks. He gave up six hits, but the Hawk defense was on its toes and stomped the snakes back into the grass.

Vance Moe and Garrett Owen each hit a triple and also grabbed a run over the plate.  

Lecompte had two hits along with Shaye Setter and each scored one run. The Hawks really spread the runs out with runs scored by eight different players. Mario Rubalcava, Shaye Setter, Garrett Owen, Hunter Adversalo, Theodore Seidel, Nolan House, Cade LeCompte, and Vance Moe all claimed a run.

Vance Moe pitched the second game against Union Mine, ending the night with a 7-0 win.
