GALT, CA (MPG) - The Liberty Ranch boys’ golf team is making waves this season, showcasing remarkable talent and teamwork as they strive for their first league championship. 

With an impressive league record of 9-1, head coach Mike Turpin has witnessed a significant improvement in his team’s performance as the season progresses.

“The boys continue to play better and better,” Turpin stated, beaming with pride. “Their scores have been dropping, and we are a confident team right now. It is very nice to see everyone stepping up and contributing.” 

This past week was particularly noteworthy for the team. They recorded their best score of the year with a remarkable 215 against El Dorado, where they dominated the competition with a final score of 215 to 260. 

This victory not only reflects their hard work and dedication but also strengthens their case for the coveted league title. 

As the season nears its climax, Liberty Ranch’s standout performances come from various golfers. Hunter Rohner has established himself as the top scorer, consistently impressing with scores of 41, 38 against Argonaut, and another 38 against Amador. 

His reliable scoring and strategic play have proven pivotal for the team’s success. 

Other noteworthy contributors include Bryton Gibson, who put up a solid 49 against El Dorado, and Trevor Schweitz and Sean O'Brien, who both scored admirable 41 and 42 points, respectively. Chris Gutierrez and Kobe Aguillen rounded out the team’s impressive showing with scores of 44 and 47, contributing to the collective effort that secured the latest victory.

As the season progresses, Coach Turpin remains focused on fostering the team’s growth. 

“If we can continue to improve and maintain our excellent play, we have a great shot at winning our first league championship,”  he remarked.

With confidence soaring and unity among the players, the Liberty Ranch boys’ golf team is poised to make history this season.

 As they refine their skills and work together toward a common goal, the prospect of clinching the league title is more tangible than ever.
