GALT, CA (MPG) - In high school swimming, earning all-league recognition requires nothing short of perfection: Athletes must capture first place at the league meet to receive the honor. This season, two local swimmers achieved that elite status.

Liberty Ranch’s Mason Bussman and Galt High’s Courtney Brouwer were the only athletes from their respective schools to earn all-league honors, with each claiming victory in their events at the league championship meet.

Bussman’s first-place finish helped to propel the Liberty Ranch boys’ team to a fourth-place finish out of eight teams in league competition.

Meanwhile, Brouwer’s individual success contributed to the Galt girls’ team also securing fourth place in the league standings.

Both schools showed competitive depth across their programs, with the Galt boys’ team finishing fifth in league and the Liberty Ranch girls’ team also placing fifth overall.

While only two local athletes achieved the coveted all-league status this season, both programs demonstrated solid foundations for future success. The fourth- and fifth-place team finishes indicate strong program development and suggest there’s plenty of momentum to build upon heading into next season.

As both Liberty Ranch and Galt look ahead to next year, they can take pride in their competitive showings and the individual excellence displayed by their all-league honorees.
