Resolve To Conserve Water in 2022
Jan 17, 2022 12:00AM ● By SSWD StaffCARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Though California had one of the wettest Decembers on record, the drought is not yet over. Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD) is asking its customers to resolve to conserve water this year and to take WaterSense’s “I’m for Water” pledge and download their resolutions checklist.
WaterSense was created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to make it easy to be water-efficient. The WaterSense label is given to those products that have been independently certified to use at least 20 percent less water and to work as well or better than regular models.
The resolutions checklist includes actions for each month, ranging from learning how to read a water bill to installing water-efficient fixtures and weather-based sprinkler timers. SSWD can help with the cost of many of these improvements through its rebate program, which offers $150 for weather-based sprinkler timers, $500 for sprinkler system improvements, and $150 for WaterSense-labeled toilets. Complete details on the rebate program are available at sswd.org/rebates.
You can sign the “I’m for Water” pledge and download the checklist at https://www.epa.gov/watersense/im-water-pledge.
