CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) – The Carmichael Post Office, 6929 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael, CA 95608, will be holding a job fair on July 20 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. to fulfill positions in the Carmichael Post Office as well as other post offices in the surrounding area.
“This fair not only enables applicants to work locally, but also enjoy the outdoors which is another benefit working for the Postal Service,” said Evelina Ramirez, regional spokesperson. “These positions pay $18 - $29 per hour, but when you factor in a short commute to work, there are additional savings to factor in as well, such as no tolls, little gas, and your time.”
These career fairs are part of the Postal Service’s Delivering for America plan. The plan includes creating a stable and empowered workforce, especially for associates who are not yet in career positions. In addition, it expands training and long-term career development programs, offers safety improvements, and establishes an Executive Diversity Council to advance a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Applicants must be 18 years old and must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. In addition, applicants for carrier and other driving positions must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger vehicles. The driving must have taken place in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. military installations worldwide.
To assist potential applicants, USPS personnel will be on-site to provide detailed information about the positions and answer questions. Applications are accepted online only at www.usps.com/careers. Applicants must be 18 years of age and be able to pass a criminal background investigation. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays.
