GALT, CA (MPG) - Liberty Ranch beat the Galt Warriors in the final games of the series 6-1. Two days earlier the Hawks were able to beat Galt 5-0 at Community Park.

The first match-up was back in March where Liberty came out with a 5-3 win. 

Galt, with the loss of head coach Jason Evans, has not entered stats for the last two games yet. The Warriors put three pitchers on the mound against Liberty Ranch. Freshman pitcher Anthony Arriaga pitched most of the innings. He was relieved by Tyler Watts, then Giovanni Sterni relieved Watts for the last inning.

For Liberty Ranch, Kade Lecompte pitched the entire game. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Lecompte is having an amazing season pitching and he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Lecompte also proved to be a batting asset, going 2-for-4 with two RBI’s.

Hawk Vance Moe continues to be one of the best batters on the team, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Derek Nelson, while consistent in the infield, was also a strong contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The Warriors’ defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. 

As for Liberty Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, making their League record 9-6 this season. 

The Warriors tied Rosemont for last in League, while the Hawks came in third and won their first playoff game against Venture Academy 13-6.
