Galt Shooters Compete at U.S. Nationals

GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Shooters just returned from a very successful competition at the U.S. Open Youth Clay Shooting Annual Competition in Las Vegas.
The U.S. Open Youth Clay Shooting Championship is an annual competition that includes the disciplines of skeet, sporting clays and trap for youth ages 22 and below.
This was Galt’s first time competing at the U.S. Open, and with only four club members. One varsity and three JV shooters competed. The majority of the other teams were larger.
Galt JV Squad won second Place in Skeet and third Place for Sporting Clays. Varsity took fifth individually in Skeet and second Place in Sporting Clays.
Sporting Clays JV individual results: Andrew Guthrie had sixth place (77 score), Alora Gedney 11th place (69 score) and Ernie Lujan had 16th place (54 score).
Varsity individual: Timothy Domingo took second (90 score).
Skeet individual places: JV Alora Gedney had third (175 score), Ernie Lujan eighth (163 score) and Andrew Guthrie ninth place (150 score); and Varsity individual Timothy Domingo had fifth (184 score).
Incoming freshman and other high school students interested in shooting can meet the coaches and other team members from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27 at the Alta Mesa Gun Club, 10100 Reigl Road, Wilton.
