GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Junior Warriors spent last Saturday playing the Sonora Junior Cats at Warrior Stadium.
It was another hot day with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, and the field was even hotter.
The heat didn’t seem to bother the players as much as it bothered the adults, and players got their hits and tackles in.
The Jr. Novice team consists of first- and second-graders. They are quite the sight wearing their big helmets and pads. The athletes seem to have a good grasp of the game, however, and they complete their plays and tackles.
The parent volunteers were kept busy at the snack bar and after the game, the athletes get to enjoy a treat.
The Novice team consists of third- and fourth-graders, and they are definitely bigger than the Novice team.
The boys really seem to follow the ball and tackle the opposing players well.
Jr. Varsity consists of fifth- and sixth-graders while the oldest group, Varsity, consists of seventh- and eighth-graders. Unlike in other leagues, freshmen in high school are not allowed in this league.
This Saturday they face the Calaveras Junior Red Hawks at Warrior Stadium. All are welcome to come out and support our Galt children and enjoy a game.
