GALT, CA (MPG) - On Saturday, Sept. 23, the Galt Cross Country Team participated in the Bret Harte Frogtown Invitational held in Angels Camp.
The Boys Varsity team finished ninth overall and second in Division four, led by Senior Runners Kitto Gonzalez and Logan Rose.
Boys Freshman Two Mile Race: David Espinoza Terrones finished with a time of 14:09.27, followed by Daniel Crownover at 14:26.50 and Noah Dean at 19:00.27.
Girls Frosh Soph Two Mile Race results: Kristine Meixner finished at 17:15.29, Morgan Jones at 17:38.91, Maeve Cordonnier at 20:30.45 and Delcy Rodriguez at 22:40.01.
Boys Sophomore Two Mile Race results: Garrett Rose, 13:43.56; Rylan Graviette, 15:12.79; Julian Alvarado, 16:02.24; Mateo Mejia, 16:07.15.
Girls Varsity Three Mile Race results: Alanna Juarez, 25:38.44; Elia Rodriguez, 27:11.70; Ella Ipson, 28:40.29
Boys Varsity Three Mile Race results: Kitto Gonzalez finished 4th with a time of 16:45.34, Logan Rose came in 15th at 17:52.05, Alejandro Herrera clocked 19:28.58, Xavier Gomez posted 21:46.59 and Austin Nichols completed the race in 29:47.95.
“The athletes performed well in a challenging field that included many of the schools we’ll face later this year at the subsection meet,” said head coach Bruce Peterson. “We treated this race as a preparation race to gain experience on this difficult course and to gear up for our first league meet.”
The Warriors’ first league meet was Wednesday at Folsom Lake College, after press time.
