Open at Last

After months of waiting, 4th Street Tavern has opened in Old Town Galt. The opening was delayed as the business waited for fire department approval, co-owner Greg Shilin said at the bar’s opening on Sept. 21. The Elk Grove resident praised the support of locals and the city of Galt. “Everything about Galt has been very fortunate, lucky,” Shilin said. 4th Street Tavern is at 229 Fourth St.; it opens at noon Monday through Saturday, and at 10 a.m. on Sundays.
