GALT, CA (MPG) - The Liberty Ranch flag football team played the Galt Warriors at Warrior Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 26. The Hawks, who are ranked first in league, have not lost a game yet this season.  Almost every player on their team is an experienced athlete and it showed when they beat the Warriors 52-8.
With coaches Andy Peterson and Mike Turpin at the helm, the ladies should continue to dominate in league play.  Three different Hawks took the ball to play quarterback against the Warriors, helping to keep their team well rounded.
Galt, on the other hand, only has two or three athletes who have any sport experience.
New head coach Ryan Tassell continues to forge forward. “I am really happy with how they played against Liberty,” said Tassell.
“We continue to improve our skills each game with this young team. There is a lot to remember, with the rules, all the plays and strategies and it is exciting to watch the growth.”
The Hawks then faced the second-place team, Amador, on Monday, Sept. 30 and came away with another win, 19-6.
“We won a big game vs. Amador Monday night in a matchup with the top two teams,” said Peterson. “We didn’t play our best game but finished an important road game with a win.  Madysin Robbins had a monster game with some big catches on offense and interceptions on defense. Lexi Williams had some key catches; Kamryn Blevins made some big-time throws. Kaeli Vang was outstanding as always on offense and defense and Maggie Stephens was a flag-pulling machine on defense. It was a great overall team effort on the road.”
