GALT, CA (MPG) - So far, it’s been a perfect league season for the inaugural Liberty Ranch flag football team.

They have secured the league championship with a 12-0 record. Quite a feat for the ladies, who can always say they were on the first team ever along with the glory of the championship.

First touchdown, first win, first pass, first flag pulled, to name a few of the firsts the ladies can claim.

First head coach Andy Peterson acknowledges his talented athletes.

“We had a great group of girls that played at a high level all year,” said Peterson. “I am very proud of their effort and performance. I am looking forward to watching some more great football in the playoffs.”

Only five of the eight teams in the conference were able to field teams this year. That includes the Hawks, Galt High, Bradshaw, Amador and Argonaut.

Next up are the playoffs, where it is anticipated that the first game will be played at home.
