GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Police Department announced Nov. 20 the addition of two new officers, who will help the department's ability to serve and protect the community.

 The new team members are Officer Tyler Lantsberger and Officer Ernesto Martinez, who bring diverse backgrounds and a deep commitment to public safety.

 Lantsberger is a native of Elk Grove, where he thrived in social settings. His love for sports laid the foundation for a career built on communication, cooperation and leadership, skills that Lantsberger now brings to his work in law enforcement, according to the Galt Police Department.

 Outside of his professional life, Lantsberger enjoys a variety of outdoor hobbies, including hunting, fishing and golfing. In recent months, he has also taken up pickleball. Above all, Lantsberger values time spent with his family and dogs, prioritizing them on his time off, according to the Galt Police Department.

 “Officer Lantsberger is eager to get more involved in the Galt community, build positive relationships and help keep everyone in town safe,” the Galt Police Department shared.

 On the other hand, Officer Ernesto Martinez brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role with the Galt Police Department. Born in Puebla, Mexico, and raised in East Los Angeles, Martinez enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2002, where he served as a training instructor and advisor. Over the years, Martinez rose through the ranks to achieve the position of first sergeant, a role that honed his leadership, discipline and commitment to service, according to the Galt Police Department.

 After transitioning from military service, Martinez completed his law enforcement training at the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Academy, graduating in March 2024. In his free time, Martinez enjoys hiking and cherishes moments spent with his family, according to the Galt Police Department.

 “What he most looks forward to most about serving the Galt community is helping to keep Galt a safe place,” the Galt Police Department shared. His passion for public safety and his background in military service will be valuable assets as he works to protect and serve the city.

 With the addition of these two officers, the Galt Police Department is strengthened not only in number but in the shared goal of building positive relationships and fostering trust within the community.
