GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Warrior boys soccer team annihilated Tokay 6-0 in a preseason game on Dec. 2.  

 Giovanni De Leon and Hayden Miller each scored two goals while Jaylen Mendez and Christian Gomez each scored one.

 Galt soccer alum Julian Parra has taken over as the new head coach and he reminds the boys who they play for in his pregame talks. “This is not just any high school, it’s tradition, it’s culture and its authenticity,” said Parra. “We want to keep making Warrior Stadium a tough place to play and starting off strong vs. a great team like Tokay surely helps us build something great. This group of boys is special, the energy is great and they all definitely are proud to represent Galt.”

 It's still the beginning of the season and Parra’s philosophy is hard work. “We need to work on everything,” explained Parra. “This result is obviously great, but there is still lots we need to work on. We know what flaws we need to fix. We have to tighten up a couple things and we will continue to grow into what we want to be.”

 The Warriors worked hard to deliver a shutout against Tokay. “The whole team understood their role and helped on keeping a shutout,” said Parra. “It’s a great feeling when you have all 11 guys and the substitutes fighting to keep the shutout. Again, this group is special, and we are all together as one.”
