FRESNO, CA (MPG) - Galt High School senior Kitto Gonzalez competed in the CA State Championship at Woodward Park for the third consecutive year. He placed 40th in the Division 4 Race with a time of 16:07.9, among over 200 runners. Kitto improved his previous years’ time by nearly 33 seconds and improved on his 65th place previous finish, racing against California's top high school athletes.

 Gonzalez had an impressive race in the competitive Division 4 at the State Championships. Qualifying for the CA State Cross Country Championships as an individual for three consecutive years is a significant achievement. As a Senior this year, Kitto consistently performed well in the San Joaquin Section D4 and showed improvement throughout the season.

 Head Coach Bruce Peterson continues to build an outstanding program. “Our Galt Cross Country team had a solid year, with the Boys finishing 7th in Section Championships and the Girls showing great improvement,” said Peterson. “The team grew stronger throughout the season. We're losing eight seniors, but the future looks promising, and I look forward to what we can do next season.”

 Gonzalez and Logan Rose will compete in the Footlocker Western Region Invitational at the legendary Mt. Sac course in Walnut, CA, on Dec. 7. This event attracts top high school runners in the U.S., providing a significant challenge for both athletes.
