GALT, CA (MPG) - The Lady Warrior basketball team finished up their preseason and headed out to Rosemont High School for their first league game on Jan. 7. Unfortunately, they didn’t bring home a win against the Wolverines, losing with a final score of 42-23.
New head coach Jared Moore is building a team that consists of three freshman, four sophomores, four juniors and two seniors.
“Besides fundamentals, offense and defense, we are working on cohesiveness and learning to trust each other,” said Moore.
“We are fitting our offensive program to the players skillsets.  We have seen lots of improvement, and I am looking forward to see how that equates to the regular season.”
The high scorer of the Rosemont game was freshman Alexandra Gonzalez Landa with nine points. Freshman Allison Garcia scored six, junior Alaya Gunter scored four, junior Antanella Feilbach scored two and freshman Skyler Moore scored 2 points also.
The Warriors are scheduled to face Bradshaw Christian next on Jan. 10, after press time.
