GALT, CA (MPG) - In a thrilling conclusion to the season, the JV Hawks faced off against the Warriors in a nail-biting game at the Hawks’ Nest that was full of intensity and excitement. The game ended in a tie, 38-38, at the conclusion of regulation, setting the stage for a dramatic overtime period. 

As the clock ticked down in overtime, the atmosphere in the arena was electric with fans on the edge of their seats cheering for both teams. With just 2:34 remaining, the Hawks managed to hold a narrow lead of 45-43 after a fierce battle on the court. The tension only increased as the Hawks pulled ahead to 47-43, seemingly in control of the game. However, the Warriors refused to give up, rallying in the final moments to score 3 points, bringing the score to 47-46. 

In a gripping finish, the Hawks were able to execute their defense effectively just when it mattered the most, holding on to secure the win at 47-46. 

For the Warriors, freshman standout Hunter Hileman shone bright, finishing as the game’s top scorer with 12 points. He was supported by Bryan Villalobos with 11 points, along with key contributions from Abel Romero and Jalen Hall, each adding eight points. Garrett Rose and Dominic Gonzalez rounded out the scoring with five and two points, respectively. 

While the Hawks’ stats were not available at press time, their victory marked a significant accomplishment for the team, ending the season on a high note. Coach and players alike expressed pride in their performance and determination to build on this success. 

As the season comes to a close, both teams can take pride in their hard-fought battles and the memories created on the court. We are already looking forward to next season when both teams will elevate their games even further, as many players will move up to varsity.
