GALT, CA (MPG) - As the final whistle blew on the soccer season, one name echoed through the campus of Galt High School: Ben Stratton.

A four-year varsity player, Stratton has not only left his mark with eight goals this season but has ascended to the pinnacle of the sport as the number one playmaker in California and in a tie for the nation’s lead in assists.

With a tally of 35 assists this season, Stratton played a crucial role in leading the Warriors to a share of the league title victory. His skills on the pitch extend beyond merely scoring; his ability to read the game and deliver the perfect pass has set him apart from his peers. Coaches, teammates, and fans alike have marveled at his vision and uncanny knack for placing the ball just where it needs to be.

“I think I’m so good at assisting because I put my own ambitions and emotions aside for my team's success,” Stratton said. “I know where I need to put the ball and when, so my teammate can be in the best possible spot to score. I want to share the feeling of scoring goals and winning games with my teammates.”

Stratton's dedication is evident not just in his stats, but in his character. His perspective on teamwork and collaboration has resonated deeply with his coaches.

“Ben is the kind of player that elevates everyone around him,” Coach Julian Parra said. “His understanding of the game and his selflessness on the field make him a natural leader.”

While individual accolades are indeed remarkable, Stratton is quick to recognize the contributions of his teammates in achieving this success.

“Being ranked first in the nation and first in California attests not only to my personal skills and accomplishments but is also something for my team to be proud of,” Stratton said. “Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve that.”

As Stratton wraps up his high school soccer career, his future remains bright, with aspirations extending beyond the pitch. For now, though, he revels in the joy of being part of a winning team and leaving a legacy at Galt High School that will surely inspire future generations of soccer players.

With exams approaching and the soccer season concluding, Stratton is poised to explore collegiate opportunities, but one thing remains certain: his heart will always be with his team, where he discovered the true meaning of success.
