GALT, CA (MPG) - In a commanding performance, the Liberty Ranch Hawks baseball team traveled up the hill to Union Mine and returned home with a decisive 5-1 victory, solidifying their position at the top of the league standings.

The evening belonged to pitcher Vance Moe, who delivered an outstanding performance on the mound. Moe was in full control throughout the game, pitching a complete game and only allowing one run on five hits. His performance was punctuated by an impressive 11 strikeouts, demonstrating both skill and composure under pressure.

His ability to keep Union Mine’s batters off balance played a crucial role in the Hawks securing the win.

Offensively, the Hawks displayed their depth with contributions from multiple players. Kade Lecompte had a notable impact on the scoreline, scoring one run and driving in two RBIs. Moe, who was not only dominant as a pitcher but also as a hitter, contributed significantly to the offensive effort with three hits and two runs scored.

Freshman Max Tapia showcased his talent as well, recording two hits and driving in three RBIs, highlighting the promising future and strength of the Hawks’ roster.

Also contributing to the offensive tally were Cole Erias and Mario Rubalcava, who each crossed home plate, bringing the total runs for the Hawks to five. The team’s cohesive effort and balanced attack proved too much for Union Mine, helping them maintain their winning streak.

With this victory, the Hawks improve their league record to an impressive 2-0, firmly placing them in first place. Their strong start to the season builds momentum and confidence as they look forward to future matchups.

Head Coach Jason Adversalo praised his team’s effort, highlighting the importance of both pitching and timely hitting in their success.

“Vance’s performance on the mound was exceptional, and our hitters did a great job capitalizing on opportunities,” he noted. “We need to continue this momentum as we move through the season.”
