GALT, CA (MPG) - The Liberty Ranch Hawks baseball team has extended its their winning streak to an impressive 11 games, showcasing both talent and tenacity. The Hawks continue to dominate in league play after defeating El Dorado twice, first on their home turf with a decisive 2-0 shutout on April 3, and then in a nail-biting extra innings showdown that ended with Vance Moe sealing the win with a spectacular home run on April 4.
In their home game against El Dorado, fans witnessed an electrifying performance from Cole Erias, who delivered an amazing triple in front of a roaring crowd. Supporting him in the lineup were Derek Nelson, Garrett Owens, Hunter Adversalo and Vance Moe, all contributing crucial hits that bolstered the Hawks’ offensive attack.
On the mound, Moe showcased his formidable skills by pitching a complete game of seven innings, allowing only three hits, one walk, and striking out six batters.
“We did our job,” Moe said after the victory. “Our defense was solid, and I just focused on hitting my spots. The team played great behind me.”
Things got tense in the rematch at El Dorado, where the Hawks initially struggled. Liberty Ranch scored only one run in the third inning while El Dorado answered back with three of its own. However, the Hawks never lost faith.
“It’s all about resilience,” said head coach Jason Adversalo. “I tell the boys to never get down, keep their heads up and never give up. I was a little nervous when we fell behind, but I knew we had the heart to come back.”
And come back they did! Liberty Ranch added another run in the fourth inning, tying the game at 3-3 in the sixth. When the game went to extra innings, it was Moe who stepped up again, hitting his second home run of the season and leading the Hawks to a triumphant 6-3 victory in the eighth inning.
Moe was not alone in his offensive prowess; he had three hits in the game, while teammates Cade LeCompte and Hunter Adversalo solidified their contributions with two hits each against El Dorado. Cole Erias, Max Tapia and Nolan House added to the attack with singles of their own, ensuring a balanced offensive front.
On the mound, LeCompte played a crucial role as well, pitching eight innings, allowing only four hits and striking out five batters without issuing a single walk.
“Cade kept us in the game,” Coach Adversalo praised. “He showed great poise, especially when we needed it the most. And the boys rallied behind him.”
With Coach Adversalo continually motivating his players, the Hawks have developed a winning mentality. “This team knows how to fight back,” he said with pride. “They believe in each other, and that’s what makes us strong.”
