GALT, CA (MPG) - The Liberty Ranch Stunt Team is again proving to be a force to be reckoned with, currently holding three league victories under its belt and showcasing its ambition to reclaim the league title. With a legacy of excellence, they’ve established themselves as the team to beat, consistently dominating the league year after year.
Since its inception, Coach Barbara Welch has guided the Liberty Ranch Stunt Team with dedication and a focus on hard work.
“We practice a lot and continually refine our routines,” Welch noted. “This season, we didn’t start with all the levels completed, which meant we had to push ourselves harder and focus on learning. Right now, we’re very close to mastering the top Level 6, and I believe this will make us incredibly competitive at the sections this year. We have a clear goal: to win sections.”
The upcoming sections hold new promise for the team, as this year they will be split into two divisions. Liberty Ranch will compete in Division Two, allowing them to face a different level of competition and avoid powerhouse teams like Oak Ridge, which triumphed at both the state and section levels last year.
As the season progresses, Coach Welch reflects on the impact her seniors have made.
“I’m really going to miss this group of seniors. Most of them have been with me for four years and have worked tirelessly to stay at the top. Their commitment to becoming the best they can be is truly inspiring,” she said, her voice filled with genuine emotion. “It has been an incredible journey watching them grow as athletes and individuals.”
While the program will undoubtedly feel the absence of its senior leaders, there is a bright future ahead. With eight freshmen, five sophomores and 12 juniors eager to carry the legacy, the incoming talent ensures that the spirit of the Liberty Ranch Stunt Team will continue to thrive.
As stunt becomes increasingly recognized across the nation, many colleges are beginning to establish their own stunt programs. Notably, Liberty Ranch boasts more athletes receiving college scholarships for stunt than any other sport within the school.
“The emergence of new programs across the country presents fantastic opportunities for our dedicated athletes,” Coach Welch shared. “For those who live for stunt, the potential is ripe for the taking.”
With unwavering support from Welch and a talented roster, the Liberty Ranch Stunt Team is poised to make its mark this season.
