GALT, CA (MPG) - Two rivals. One pool. Unforgettable memories. Galt High School and Liberty Ranch once again combined forces to celebrate their annual senior swim night, turning the friendly cross-town competition into a celebration of camaraderie and lasting teamwork. With both teams practicing at the City of Galt’s pool since neither campus currently has a functioning pool—Galt’s has been condemned for years and Liberty Ranch has none—the bond between Warriors and Hawks runs deeper than just competition.

Honoring the Class of 2024
The Warriors fielded a small but mighty senior class, with Levi McDonald and Ella Ipson recognized alongside coach Shannon Potter. Across the pool deck, Hawk coach Kalah Westlynn had a formidable group of nine seniors to honor: Amanda Thompson, Veronika Shayhen, Bryon Chua, Flynn Rausser, Shelby Redding, Adam Behrmann, Jonas Lindberg, Jackson Lagana and Arianna Avalos. With this wave of upperclassmen moving on, Westlynn will have much rebuilding ahead.

The contest itself showed the strength of both programs. The Liberty Ranch boys surged to a 97-46 win, bolstered by strong relay squads and individual performances, while the Galt girls answered back in dominating fashion, clinching a 91-77 victory thanks in large part to relay sweeps and depth in distance and sprint events.
