GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Warrior junior varsity baseball team faced off against the Liberty Ranch Hawks last Tuesday in a closely contested match that showcased both teams’ strengths and determination. Ultimately, the Warriors were edged out 3-1 but not without putting up a valiant effort that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

The game began with strong pitching from both sides. Galt’s Trent Dozier took the mound and delivered an impressive performance, striking out nine batters while walking five.

The Warriors made the first mark on the scoreboard in the third inning, igniting hope among their fans. However, it took the Hawks until the fifth inning to finally break through and score, highlighting the competitive nature of the game.

Liberty Ranch’s Jayden Valle pitched a solid five innings, striking out five Warriors and walking two, before handing the ball to David Sanchez for the final two innings.

Sanchez further tightened the grip on the game for the Hawks, racking up four strikeouts against Galt and not allowing any more runs.

While the Warriors’ bats were quieted at key moments, several players managed to make contact. Art Cordova, Alex Jones, Trent Dozier, Leland Reames and Johnny Cash each contributed hits to Galt’s effort, highlighting their determination to stay in the game.

The Hawks, on the other hand, found their rhythm late, scoring two crucial runs in the seventh inning to seal the victory. Among those contributing offensively for Liberty Ranch were Jayden Valle and Mason Gomes, both of whom recorded hits that put pressure on the Warrior defense.
