ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Cosumnes Fire marked the arrival of its newest apparatus, Truck 74, with a traditional push-in ceremony at Station 74.

This event honors a historic tradition dating back to the days of horse-drawn fire engines, when crews manually pushed their equipment back into the station.

While modern fire trucks no longer require this effort, the ceremony serves as a meaningful nod to the past and a celebration of the future.

Truck 74 replaces a 2006 model and comes equipped with updated tools, faster setup capabilities and advanced safety technology. Thanks to funding from Measure E, the new tiller truck is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment that will support firefighters in delivering exceptional service to the community.

The new truck helps provide faster emergency response, advanced safety technology and is designed to help navigate current neighborhoods.

Though the tools have evolved, the commitment to protecting the community remains as strong as ever.
