GALT, CA (MPG) - The City of Galt has announced two series of events for the summertime that will include fun for the whole family. The return of Friday Night Movies, a free outdoor movie series held at Veterans Field, and Summer Concerts in the Park at various local parks will be available for residents to attend throughout the summer. These monthly events provide a great way to enjoy a casual evening in the community with family, friends and neighbors.

Friday Night Movies will be at 900 Caroline Ave. and movies will start at dusk around 6 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic baskets to make the most of the outdoor experience. A variety of concessions will be available on-site, so folks can grab a snack or drink while they enjoy the show.

This year’s movie schedule includes “Paddington in Peru” (June 13), “Snow White” (July 11), “Cars” (Aug. 8) and “Lilo & Stitch” (Sept. 12). 

Admission is free and no registration is required. It is recommended to arrive early to find a spot on the field and enjoy the evening with the community.

Summer Concerts in the Park is a rolling concert series that will be held at different parks in Galt each month. Bring a blanket, snacks and friends for a relaxing Saturday evening of entertainment. All concerts begin at 6 p.m. and are free to attend.

The first concert will be at Veterans Field on June 14, with a performance from the David Perez Band. On July 12, the Listen Hear Band will perform at Galt Community Park, 1000 Walnut Ave. On Aug. 9, the B-Side Band will have its concert at Walker Park, 380 W Elm Ave. The last concert will be held on Sept. 13; the band is to be announced.
