FOLSOM, CA (MPG) - The Masters is arguably the most competitive track meet in all of Northern California.
This week, Liberty Ranch coaches Jackie Corriea and MarQuan De Bise escorted a small group of Liberty Ranch athletes to compete at the Masters tournament at Folsom High School.

Jimmy Lopez competed in the pole vault and jumped 12’8”, his highest ever. Lopez placed 16th at Masters.
George Adrian III, Camren Hudson, Larry Lucas and Joseph Brown ran the 4x100 with a time of 43:53, placing 16th.
Brown ran the 300m hurdles, placing 10th with a time of 42:99.
Hudsen placed fifth in the triple jump with a 44-foot jump, narrowly missing the State competition mark, but with a new personal record of 22-05.75, placed an amazing second place in the long jump and will move on to State in that event.
Larry Lucas peaked at the right time and ran the 110m hurdles in 14:77, earning third place and a seat at the State meet. Incidentally, Lucas will be heading to UCLA in the fall and will not be running track there.
Assistant Coach Corriea, who still boasts track records at Galt High and ran track in college, knows just how hard it is to do well at Masters and move on to State.
“I am in shock,” boasted Coach Corriea. “I don’t even know what to say. I am so proud of Camren and Larry. They have been so dedicated and worked so hard to get to this spot. To move on past Masters only happens to the few and the fastest and most dedicated.”
What a great track season for the Hawks. With continued commitment from the athletes the team can only soar higher.
