GALT, CA (MPG) - The Liberty Ranch Hawks track and field team demonstrated exceptional talent this season, with five athletes earning all-league honors through their outstanding performances at the SVC league meet. Unlike other sports where coaches select all-league athletes, track and field demands first-place finishes to achieve this prestigious recognition.

The Hawks dominated the hurdles events, with senior Larry Lucas claiming victory in the 110m hurdles and senior Joseph Brown conquering the 300m hurdles. Senior Jimmy Lopez reached new heights in the pole vault, securing first place with an impressive clearance of 12 feet, 6 inches, while senior Camren Hudson showcased his explosive power in the triple jump.

The 4x100 relay team, consisting of George Adrienne, Hudson, Lucas and Brown, demonstrated perfect chemistry and timing to capture first place in one of track’s most technically challenging events.

Lucas, Brown and Hudson’s exceptional performances earned them first-place finishes in multiple events, though they’ll each receive one commemorative patch for their letterman jackets.

The athletes’ success continued beyond league competition, with strong showings at the Masters meet after impressive section performances. Hudson and Lucas took their talents to the highest level, competing at the State meet.

First-year head coach Marquan De Bias couldn’t contain his pride when discussing his athletes’ achievements.

“What we witnessed this season was nothing short of extraordinary,” De Bias said, beaming. “These kids showed up every day with fire in their hearts and determination in their eyes. When you see athletes willing to push themselves to their absolute limits, staying late after practice, fine-tuning their technique and supporting each other like family that’s when you know you’ve got something special. Making it to State isn’t just about natural talent; it’s about the countless hours these athletes put in when nobody was watching. This group has set a new standard for what it means to be a Hawk.”
