GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Gators swim team claimed a narrow victory over the Sacramento Stingrays in a nail-biting competition last Saturday, finishing with a final score of 414-396.

The 18-point margin showcased the depth and determination of the Gators squad, who maintained their composure throughout the closely contested meet.

“Every single point mattered today,” said a Gator parent. “Our swimmers gave everything they had in each race, and that collective effort made the difference.”

The meet featured several standout performances, including two swimmers who qualified for the prestigious Meet of Champions (MOC). John Carey secured his MOC spot with an impressive time of 31.01 seconds in the boys 13/14 50-yard backstroke, while John Pilegaard qualified with a swift 26.25 seconds in the boys 15/18 50-yard butterfly.

Five swimmers were recognized as “Gators of the Week” for their exceptional contributions: Perla Parra, Nolan Alvarez, Isaac Maldonado, Everly Penney and Raelyn Akers.

The Gators will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next meet, scheduled for after the Fourth of July holiday.
