GALT, CA (MPG) - The City of Galt announced in its Aug. 15 newsletter that it was honored with the 2025 Project of the Year Award from the American Public Works Association (APWA) for the C Street Enhancement Project.

The American Public Works Association (APWA) is a nonprofit organization that serves public works professionals, supporting those who maintain infrastructure through education and networking.

This year, the American Public Works Association Sacramento Chapter recognized the City of Galt during a luncheon on Aug. 8 with a Project of the Year Award, a recognition of excellence in public works projects in different categories such as transportation, structures and environment.

The award credits the collaborative efforts among managing agencies, consultants, engineers and contractors who demonstrate outstanding project management and administration.

The city earned this recognition in the Transportation category for transforming C Street with significant improvements that included Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalks, protected bike lanes, upgraded drainage systems, decorative lighting and enhanced landscaping.

In the newsletter, a special congratulations was given to Public Works Deputy Director Trung Trinh for his role as the C Street Project manager and demonstrating exceptional leadership in bringing the project to completion.
