GALT, CA (MPG) - Galt High School alumna Kaya Weaver returned to California over the Labor Day weekend with her University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) volleyball team to compete in the Sacramento State Invitational Volleyball Tournament.
The Miners were crowned champions after victories over Sacramento State 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-17), Pepperdine 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-23) and UC Davis 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 26-24).
When asked about the tournament Weaver said, “The amount of people that came each game helped us a lot. It felt like we were playing at home in a way. Especially against Sac State. It felt like we had more people in there for us than them. It was so much fun.”
