GALT, CA (MPG) - Lola Solorio-Pulido was born on the 15th day of September 1921 in Modesto.

She married the love of her life, Pascual Pulido, at the age of 18 in 1942. Together, they raised five children: Robert Pulido (81), Hope Bennett (79), Victoria Weible (76), Rebecca Whitaker (73) and Phillip Pulido (64).

Solorio-Pulido has lived in Thornton since the 1950s. All of her children attended Galt High School and have given her a total of seven grandchildren.

Celebrating her 104th birthday on Monday, Sept. 15, Solorio-Pulido reflected on her love of family, faith in God and the joy that friends and family have brought to her long life.

Her secret to longevity?

“Good karma; treat others as you want to be treated,” said Solorio-Pulido. “Hate no one, reach for the true meaning of faith and good will come your way.”
