GALT, CA (MPG) – The City of Galt announced on Sept. 23 via social media that two community improvement projects are underway: landscape upgrades along East Stockton Boulevard and renovations at the Sports Complex Playground at 1022 Caroline Ave.

Beginning Sept. 24, the Sports Complex Playground will be closed for construction as new equipment is installed. The Parks and Recreation Department will have the playground closed until further notice.

Planned upgrades include inclusive play features, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessible structures and new shade elements to improve the experience for park visitors.

In spring 2026, turf along East Stockton Boulevard from Twin Cities Road to Amador Avenue will be removed as part of a landscape renovation. The project will replace turf with drought-tolerant plants and shrubs supported by a drip irrigation system designed to conserve water and reduce maintenance needs.

According to the city’s social media, the project reflects an ongoing commitment to creating greener, more sustainable streetscapes, with credit given to the Parks and Recreation team for leading the improvements.
