Warriors Honor Seniors, Fall to Liberty Ranch in Straight Sets

GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Warriors hosted the Liberty Ranch Hawks on an emotional senior night, honoring senior players Maria Dimapilis, Scarlett Gaither, Maya Hernandez, Antanella Feilbach, Shayla China, Katie Dalton and Bayley Miller in front of parents and friends. Despite the heartfelt celebration, the Warriors dropped their final match of the season 25-18, 25-16, 25-17 to the visiting Hawks. Galt finished league play in eighth place with a 2-12 record, while Liberty Ranch secured third place with a 10-4 record before falling in the first round of playoffs.
The Warriors fought hard but struggled offensively, recording 17 kills on 80 attacks with 28 errors for a -.138 team hitting percentage. Sophomore Zoe Sanchez led the attack with six kills on 27 attempts, averaging 2.0 kills per set despite a -.148 hitting percentage. Senior Feilbach came off the bench to contribute two kills on five attempts with a .200 hitting percentage and 1.0 kills per set. Seniors Gaither and Hernandez each added two kills, with Gaither posting a .000 hitting percentage on eight attempts and Hernandez finishing at .000 on 12 attempts. Senior Dalton recorded two kills on eight attempts, while junior Morgan Jones and senior Miller each contributed one kill. Junior Maliah Phulmati added one kill but struggled with a -.500 hitting percentage on four attempts.
From the service line, the Warriors recorded three aces on 53 serve attempts with 10 errors for an 81.1% serving percentage. Senior Dimapilis was perfect on two serves with one ace for a 50.0% ace percentage, while Jones added an ace on five serves at 80.0% accuracy. Sanchez contributed one ace on 10 attempts with an 80.0% serving percentage and led the team with 5 serving points. Senior Hernandez served seven times at 71.4% accuracy for 3 points, while junior Courtney Brouwer was perfect on four serves for 2 points and Jones tallied 2 serving points as well.
Senior Dalton ran the Warriors’ offense with 13 assists on 58 ball-handling attempts with just one error, averaging 4.3 assists per set. Phulmati added one assist on six attempts, and junior Whitney Ehlers contributed one assist on four ball-handling attempts.

Defensively, the Warriors excelled with 41 total digs and no digging errors, averaging 13.7 digs per set. Phulmati was outstanding with 16 digs for a 5.3-digs-per-set average. Ehlers added seven digs at 2.3 per set, while Dalton recorded five digs and Sanchez contributed five digs as well. Dimapilis tallied four digs in two sets played, and senior China, senior Hernandez, junior Jones and senior Feilbach each added one dig.
At the net, the Warriors recorded two block assists for one total block. Senior Gaither and senior Miller each contributed one block assist.
In serve receiving, the Warriors handled 64 receptions with 4 errors. Sanchez led with 18 receptions at 6.0 per set, while Phulmati recorded 13 receptions at 4.3 per set despite one error. Dimapilis handled 12 receptions in two sets with one error, and Ehlers added 10 receptions at 3.3 per set with one error. China recorded five receptions with one error, and Hernandez contributed five receptions. Jones added one reception in her two sets of play.
The Hawks dominated at the net with 30 kills on 93 attempts with 18 errors for a .129 hitting percentage. Senior Smith led all players with 13 kills on 29 attempts, posting a .241 hitting percentage and 44.8% kill percentage while averaging 4.3 kills per set. Senior Savannah Lethbridge was highly efficient with 7 kills on 14 attempts for a .357 hitting percentage and 50.0% kill percentage, averaging 2.3 kills per set. Junior Vivian Frame contributed five kills on 16 attempts with a .188 hitting percentage, while senior Ava Van Warmerdam made the most of limited opportunities with three kills on just four attempts for an impressive .750 hitting percentage and 75.0% kill percentage. Senior Riley Sickels added one kill on six attempts, and freshman Charlee Miller recorded one kill on 14 attempts.

The Hawks’ serving attack was relentless with three aces on 72 serve attempts and just five errors for a 93.1% serving percentage. Junior Lily Pittman led the serving charge with 19 attempts and one error for a 94.7% success rate, contributing a team-high 14 serving points. Junior Maritza Arevalo recorded one ace on 12 serves at 91.7% accuracy for 6 points, while junior Daphne Najar was perfect with one ace on three serves for a 33.3% ace percentage and 2 points. Lethbridge added one ace on 11 serves at 90.9% for 5 points. Several players served perfectly, including Sickels (four attempts, 1 point), Haley Smith (eight attempts, 3 points), freshman Lacey Smith (five attempts, 3 points), and Frame (1 attempt, 1 point). Junior Gabriela Garcia served nine times at 77.8% for 3 points.
Arevalo orchestrated the Hawks’ offense with 13 assists on 37 ball handling attempts with two errors, averaging 4.3 assists per set. Garcia added nine assists on a perfect 36 ball-handling attempts without an error, averaging 3.0 assists per set. Pittman contributed two assists on seven attempts with one error.
The Hawks recorded 33 digs with 12 digging errors, averaging 11.0 digs per set. Smith led the back row with eight digs at 2.7 per set despite one error. Both Arevalo and Pittman tallied seven digs, with Arevalo posting a perfect 2.3 digs per set and Pittman averaging 2.3 per set with one error. Lethbridge added six digs at 2.0 per set with one error, while freshman Miller recorded two digs with one error. Freshman Smith, junior Najar and junior Garcia each contributed one dig.
At the net, the Hawks recorded one solo block and four block assists for three total blocks. Lethbridge led with one solo block and two block assists for three total blocks, while Frame contributed two block assists despite one blocking error.

Pittman added 10 receptions at 3.3 per set with no errors, while junior Adelaide Gonzalez recorded five receptions in one set played. Najar handled three receptions perfectly in her one set, and freshman Smith contributed three receptions at 1.5 per set. Senior Sickels recorded two receptions with one error, and junior Kylie Diggle added two receptions in one set of action.
