GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt JV Warriors ended a three-year drought in emphatic fashion Friday night, defeating the crosstown rival Liberty Ranch Hawks 21-7 to reclaim the Dairy Bowl trophy, if only for a moment.

The victory marks a stunning reversal of fortune for the Warriors, who suffered a humiliating 49-0 shutout loss to the Hawks in last year’s rivalry matchup. Galt’s last Dairy Bowl victory at the JV level came in 2021.

The Warriors controlled the game from the opening kickoff, jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and never looking back. After Liberty Ranch answered with a touchdown in the second quarter to tie the game at halftime, Galt’s defense clamped down, shutting out the Hawks over the final two quarters.

The Warriors added insurance touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters to pull away for the 21-7 final.

After the final whistle, the jubilant Warriors made their way to the iconic milk can trophy that symbolizes Dairy Bowl supremacy. The team savored the moment, celebrating together and posing for photos with the trophy before returning it to midfield for the varsity game.

The win brings new life to the rivalry and signals a potential shift in the balance of power between the two programs at the junior varsity level.

For Galt, the victory is not just about reclaiming bragging rights; it’s about erasing the memory of last year’s lopsided defeat and building momentum for the future of Warriors football.
