GALT, CA (MPG) - Darcie Perez, a Galt native and Liberty Ranch High School graduate, has represented the Great American Little Town on a national level through her service in the U.S. Navy, where she is currently serving as a junior sailor.

Perez moved to Guam, a U.S. Island territory in the Western Pacific, two years ago for her position and has continued to achieve success both professionally and personally. She recently earned second place at the 2025 National Physique Committee (NPC) Guam National Bodybuilding Championship, adding another accomplishment to her growing list of achievements.

Perez’s older sister, Jennifer O’grodnick, said she “couldn’t be prouder” of her younger sibling, who has earned several awards during her time in the Navy. O’grodnick noted that Perez, currently 25, also has an upcoming birthday to celebrate on Nov. 19.

Naval Airborne Weapons Maintenance Unit ONE recognized Perez’s leadership and dedication in an Oct. 27 social media post, announcing that Perez and another junior sailor were selected as “Senior and Junior Sailors of the Quarter.”

“Their exceptional professionalism, dedication to duty, and commitment to NAWMU-1’s mission exemplify the very best of our Navy’s core values,” the post read. “Both Sailors continue to set the standard for excellence and serve as shining examples to their peers.”
