GALT, CA (MPG) – The Galt-Arno Cemetery is joining a nationwide effort to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and teach youth the value of freedom.

Wreaths Across America, a national network of volunteers, places sponsored veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of service members at participating locations.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, Wreaths Across America will be at Galt-Arno Cemetery to honor veterans through the laying of remembrance wreaths on the graves of the nation’s fallen heroes. During the ceremony, volunteers will say the name of each veteran aloud, ensuring their service and sacrifice are remembered.

The wreath placement will follow immediately after the ceremony, which begins at 9 a.m. at 14180 Joy Drive.

The cemetery is inviting the community to help lay wreaths on as many graves as possible. The goal is to cover all 700 veteran graves at Galt-Arno Cemetery. Currently, 117 wreaths have been sponsored, leaving 583 to reach the 2025 goal. The last day to sponsor a wreath is Dec. 1.
