SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The Liberty Ranch Hawks girls soccer team has picked up right where it left off last season, capturing the Golden State Invitational championship with a dominant performance.

The Hawks swept all four games without conceding a single goal over 240 minutes of play, mirroring the form that carried them to a Division V Section Title last season.

“What an incredible feeling to start the season: just as we finished last year, with another Tournament Championship!” said Head Coach Rob Huarte. “The team worked tirelessly at both ends of the pitch.”

The championship run showcased both offensive efficiency and defensive excellence. Liberty Ranch capitalized on scoring opportunities while their backline remained impenetrable throughout the tournament.

“Our defense was rock solid over 240 minutes, limiting scoring chances, while we took our opportunities in the attacking third,” Huarte said. “Winning all four games without conceding a goal this early in the season is remarkable.”

For Huarte and his staff, the Golden State Invitational victory validated the team’s preparation and cohesion.

“The players showed tremendous effort, stayed disciplined and trusted one another every step of the way,” he said. “We couldn’t be prouder of this team.”

The Hawks now look to build on their tournament success as they continue their season with hopes of defending their section title.
