GALT, CA (MPG) - At its Dec. 2 meeting, the Galt City Council appointed its next mayor and vice mayor, selecting Mayor Bonnie Rodriguez and Vice Mayor Tim Reed to lead the city into 2026.

The council voted 3-2 for both appointments after considering fellow councilmembers Mathew Pratton and Paul Sandhu as candidates for the new leadership roles. Rodriguez has served on the council for a year, having been appointed in December 2024, and will now step into her first term as mayor alongside Reed as vice mayor.
