GALT, CA (MPG) - On January 6th, 2026, the Galt Police Department Investigations Unit arrested 78-year-old Henry Balliet, of Galt, on multiple felony charges related to the sexual abuse of minors.

The investigation began after the victims’ mother reported that a family member had sexually abused her three daughters over a period of several years and across multiple jurisdictions. GPD detectives conducted a thorough and extensive investigation, which included victim interviews and the collection of corroborating evidence.

During the investigation, each victim provided statements describing separate incidents of sexual abuse occurring over multiple years. Based on the totality of the evidence, detectives established probable cause for Balliet’s arrest.

As a result of the investigation, the Sacramento County Superior Court issued a $1.6 million felony warrant for the following charges: Penal Code 288(a), six counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old, and Penal Code 288.7(b), sex act with a child under 10 years old.

Balliet was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail where he remains in-custody. Due to the age of the victims and the ongoing nature of the investigation, no additional details are being released at this time.
