GALT, CA (MPG) - On Saturday, Jan. 10, at approximately 9:38 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the area of 2nd Street and Guild Street. This incident occurred nearly 24 hours after an initial shooting was reported in the same general area.

Witnesses reported a suspect vehicle traveling along 2nd Street, from which multiple rounds were fired toward a residence. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that no injuries were sustained.

Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate: A targeted residential drive-by shooting occurred, with the residence struck multiple times; A bystander vehicle was struck and subsequently towed as evidence to recover a bullet fragment; A nearby apartment unit was also struck, the bullet was safely extracted for evidentiary purposes; and no individuals were injured as a result of the gunfire.

Detectives are actively investigating both incidents, which are believed to be related. This remains an ongoing investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
