GALT/HERALD, CA (MPG) - Looking to taste the best chili in town? Your taste buds and fair judgment are needed at the annual Herald Community Club Chili Cook-off, set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15 at Champaign Ranch, 12174 Borden Road in Herald.

A $10 admission at the door gives attendees the chance to sample every chili in the contest, enjoy a barbecue lunch, receive a club membership for the year and socialize with the community. No pre-purchase is required, and cash or Venmo will be accepted at the event. The event is open to all ages and will also feature games, beverages, desserts and a raffle.


Champaign Ranch, 12174 Borden Road, will host the chili cook-off, giving attendees a chance to mingle and enjoy the event on Sunday, Feb. 15.

The Herald Community Club is a nonprofit organization made up of local residents of Herald, Wilton, Galt, Acampo and Thornton whose mission is to strengthen the community through projects and events, support youth and local nonprofits, and promote community pride and involvement. Since 2013, the club has funded schools, churches, organizations and programs throughout the area. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month.
