Local Love: Valentine’s Weekend in Galt

GALT, CA (MPG) - With Valentine’s Day landing on a weekend, Galt residents have plenty of opportunities to celebrate without leaving town. From creative classes and themed markets to romantic dinners and dancing, local events offer something for couples, families and friends looking to celebrate the ones they love. 

Valentine’s Day Paint Night

The Galt Parks and Recreation Department will host two themed Valentine’s Day paint nights at The Color Wheel from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14.

The first session on Feb. 13 invites parents and children ages 7 and older to paint together for $60 per pair. On Feb. 14, adult duos ages 18 and older can participate in their own session for $80 per pair.

Galentine’s Market

The Galt Chamber of Commerce will host its Galentine’s Market at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at Papas & Wings, offering a night out focused on celebrating friendship and supporting local businesses.

Vendors include Ink House Merch with a custom hat bar, Rising Soul Jewelry, Barkcuterie by Brynna, Erica’s Cookie Co., Oh Soy Naturals and Sam Monks Flower Farm. The event will also feature appetizers, wine tasting from Barsetti Vineyards, a DJ and swag bags for attendees.

Tickets are $35 for individuals or $60 for two and can be purchased at bit.ly/3Zpk2Ix (case sensitive).

Shop for Gifts Locally 

Residents can also celebrate Valentine’s Day by shopping local, with several Galt businesses offering themed gifts and treats.

In its latest newsletter, the City of Galt highlighted Sheila’s Country Rose Florist (835 C St. Suite 190), Aroma Bakery (241 S. Lincoln Way) offering heart-shaped conchas (sweet bread), Something Sweet Bakery (440 C St.) offering Valentine cake pops, Fancy Donuts (1067 C St. Suite 130) for shareable dozens and Mountain Mike’s Pizza (10400 Twin Cities Road) with heart-shaped pizzas.

Romantic Dinner at Brewsters 

Brewsters Kitchen & Cocktails in Old Town will offer Valentine’s Day specials for those planning a dinner date close to home. 

Specials include a ribeye steak for $32, prime rib for $32, a New York steak for $30 and a pork loin for $25. The kitchen is paired with a full bar and 12 beer taps. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 209-251-7258. Brewsters is located at 201 4th St.

Line Dance at ‘Club Pastosa’

Restaurant Pastosa by Lucia will host a line dance class from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, offering another way to celebrate the holiday weekend.

The beginner-friendly class, led by professional dancer Terrell Renee, will include step-by-step instruction followed by a DJ-led open floor. Tickets are $15 and include appetizers and one drink ticket for beer or wine. Tickets are available at bit.ly/4rwFLdv (case sensitive).
