GALT, CA (MPG) - The City of Galt is making progress on several Measure Q-funded projects that enhance community facilities and recreational amenities. These initiatives reflect the city’s ongoing commitment to investing in spaces residents can enjoy for years to come.
Waterslide Replacement Project
Construction on the new waterslide at the Gora Aquatic Center is in full swing. Crews are currently on site assembling the slide, with visible progress taking shape each day. The project remains on schedule, with the opening date still anticipated for May 2026.
Walker Community Park Phase 2A
Walker Community Park Phase 2A is already out to bid. This project will bring three new youth baseball/softball fields, new amenities and improvements to the park, enhancing recreational opportunities for the community.
Skatepark Enhancements Project
The Skatepark Enhancements Project is expected to go out to bid in the next couple of months. Once underway, this project will double the size of the skatepark and provide upgraded features for skateboarding enthusiasts.
The City of Galt appreciates the community’s continued support of Measure Q and looks forward to sharing additional updates as these projects continue to advance. Approved by voters in 2022, Measure Q established a local one-cent sales tax. The revenue generated increases locally controlled funding, allowing the city to enhance and maintain essential services.
