Galt Youth Commission Applications Open

GALT, CA (MPG) - Local students have an opportunity to step into leadership and help shape their community by joining the Galt Youth Commission. The commission is made up of 12 high school students in grades 9 to 12 who are appointed by the City Council to represent the voice of youth in Galt.

Members promote community service, encourage youth participation and work together on projects that strengthen civic engagement and connection throughout the city.

Students currently in eighth through eleventh grade who live within the Galt High School District boundaries are eligible to apply. Serving on the commission offers valuable experience in leadership, teamwork and public service while providing a chance to make a positive impact in the community.

Applications are due at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 16 and must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office.

Community members and interested students are also welcome to attend a Galt Youth Commission meeting, held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at City Hall, to see the commission in action.
