Parks and Recreation Offers Spring Youth Activity Classes

GALT, CA (MPG) - This spring, the City of Galt Parks & Recreation Department is offering a variety of engaging classes designed to keep youth active, learning and having fun. From physical activity to strategic thinking and personal safety, there’s something for every interest.
A Gymnastics and Tumbling class for ages 6 to 9 will focus on building strength, coordination and confidence through structured movement and foundational skills in a supportive environment. The beginner-level class will run for 10 sessions from April 6 through June 8, meeting from 3:15 to 4 p.m. each Monday. The cost for all sessions included is $108.
For older participants, a Youth Chess class is available for ages 9 to 17 and is open to players of all skill levels. Students will learn game flow and strategies for the opening, middle and endgame, with practice tournaments incorporated into the sessions. Chess boards will be provided. The class also runs for 10 sessions from April 6 through June 8, meeting from 4:15 to 4:55 p.m. on Mondays. The cost for all sessions included is also $108.
In addition, KIDSAFE USA Self-Defense classes will be offered for youth ages 5 to 17. The program focuses on teaching practical self-defense techniques while promoting confidence, awareness, discipline and self-esteem in a safe and supportive setting. The cost is $108 per session.
