GALT, CA (MPG) - The Galt Lions Club recently announced that it collected 1,292 pairs of eyeglasses over the past year through community donations as part of its ongoing eyeglass collection program.

The club gathers used eyeglasses and sunglasses to support locals in need of vision services, including eye exams, glasses, sports goggles and hearing aids. The Galt Lions Club typically hosts its annual Crab Feed in January to support its efforts, and it frequently offers volunteer support at community events throughout the year.

Local Lions Club members credited several local partners for helping make its eye-glass collection program possible, including Galt Family Optometric, L’Chayim of Galt Inc. and C-Galt Eyecare Optometry.

On March 14, the donated glasses were given to Lion Eyes California and the Folsom Project to help the visually impaired.
