GALT, CA (MPG) - The City of Galt recently partnered with Cub Scouts Pack 238 on a tree planting project at Community Park at Walnut Avenue as part of ongoing efforts to restore and enhance the park’s tree canopy.
City staff and scouts worked together to plant nine Chinese Pistache trees, replacing those lost over the years due to storm damage. This effort is part of the city’s urban forestry program, which is focused on maintaining healthy, vibrant public spaces and supporting long-term environmental sustainability.
The City’s parks superintendent shared that trees are one of the most valuable investments in the community, providing lasting environmental benefits, enhancing the beauty of public spaces and ensuring shaded areas for future generations to enjoy.
Participating scouts included Reid Kleinfelter and Daniel Fernandez, Arrow of Light Scouts; and Joaquin Ordaz, Jr., a Webelos Scout. Through this project, Reid and Daniel completed their Citizenship required adventure, while Joaquin completed his My Community required adventure.
The City of Galt thanks Cub Scouts Pack 238 and City staff for their teamwork and commitment to improving our community parks.
